Lancemore Group to Operate New MH Hotel at Dock One - Port Adelaide

Award-winning boutique hotel company, the Lancemore Group, have entered into an agreement as the operators for the MH Hotel project in Port Adelaide. Starfish Developments will undertake the rejuvenation of the 1970s brutalist-style building and transform it into a boutique waterfront hotel as part of the larger Dock One development.

The Lancemore Group's hotels are amongst the most awarded within the country. Last year alone, two of their hotels were celebrated in Conde Nast Traveller’s top 10 hotels in Australia/New Zealand, and another was in the Top 15 hotels awarded by the TripAdvisor community. They also run some of the country’s best restaurants, event spaces and bars. These qualities will translate directly into the facilities and guest experience at the MH Hotel.

CEO Julian Clark said “Lancemore are truly delighted to be selected as the operator for the MH Hotel in Port Adelaide. We have fallen in love with the building and Starfish Development’s vision of creating a hotel that is truly special for the people of Adelaide and its visitors. We believe the MH Hotel by Lancemore will become not just an iconic hotel in Adelaide but also within Australia. Equally, we look forward to making the restaurant, rooftop bar and event facilities the place to be in the Port area.”

This will be the Lancemore Group’s first project in Adelaide, set to join an impressive collection of boutique operations around Australia.

“We are incredibly excited to enter into this partnership with the Lancemore Group, who were chosen for their ability to deliver unique, tailored experiences. We are particularly looking forward to their operational style for the running of the rooftop bar, conferencing facilities and the ground floor restaurant. We really feel that they will best enhance the boutique nature of the hotel, and bring a new dynamic to the Port", says Damon Nagel, Starfish Developments Managing Director.

The retro nature of the building will be entirely honoured in the exterior architecture and interior design. Floating suites will run along the waterfront promenade, showcasing innovative style and design. The hotel will feature a rooftop bar with views of the water, extensive conference facilities for entertaining and functions, and a restaurant on the ground floor. The hotel will have approximately 100 rooms, including the floating suites on the water.

The hotel was originally the Marine and Harbours building, built in 1978. People would come to lodge their fishing licences there, before it became privatised in the nineties. This hotel project will attract new visitors to the Port, and create a fantastic location for a weekend getaway, an evening relaxing on the rooftop bar, or fine dining in the restaurant.

Starfish Developments is excited to deliver this project alongside the Lancemore Group, as part of the greater Dock One vision.
