Home building at Dock One is now underway with external frameworks erected on site for the first four of 23 properties with additional construction starting on Monday 4 November. The homes form the first two banks of townhouses in Stage One and are completely sold out.
Starfish has recently released a third bank of townhouses in response to the level of buyer demand.
Managing director Damon Nagel said, “The popularity of the Port as an up-and-coming area is reflected in median house price increases of 28% in the last year. This is a great time to be buying or investing at Dock One and to be part of the growth of this up-and-coming area. It’s only going to get better.”
The start of building coincides with the recent approval of design plans for the new boutique retro hotel. The renovation and transformation of the former Marine and Harbours Building into unique accommodation will include floating suites on the Port River with direct access for kayaking and other water activities.
“We are delighted to have gained planning approval for the Brutalist Marine and Harbours Building,” said Damon. “This type of hotel accommodation is a first for Port Adelaide and South Australia, helping to attract more residents, tourists and investment into the area.”
Wider site development progress at Dock One includes the completion of half the streetscapes and all civil works for Stages 1 and 2, incorporating services, roads and footpaths. Remediation of the central green park area and earthworks are also completed.
